Dr. Calderon assessed my mother's situation and explained the available options in detail. We decided to opt for an acrylic overdenture supported by 2 implants in the lower jaw, which was the area where my mother had the most problems.Placement of ImplantsThe first phase of treatment involved the placement of 2 dental implants in the lower jaw. This procedure was performed in the same clinic under local anesthesia, and was quick and uncomplicated. After placement, a recovery time of approximately 4 months was given to allow the implants to fuse with the bone (osseointegration).Prosthesis AdaptationOnce the implants were integrated into the bone, the overdenture was placed. The prosthesis was carefully designed to fit perfectly and was attached to the implants with a locator system, allowing my mother to remove the prosthesis for cleaning, but with the assurance that it remains firmly in place when in use.Benefits of Overdentures on ImplantsThe result was wonderful.
