This process would be long and complicated, delaying treatment for at least an additional 9 months to allow for bone regeneration before the implants could be placed. Furthermore, with this technique, the prosthesis could not be loaded immediately, but only 4 months after the implants were placed. This meant that I would have to make three visits to Colombia and go through a total process of approximately 13 months to obtain my final prosthesis.Strategic ImplantologyThe alternative with strategic implantology was ideal for my case, since I have little bone. This technique allows implants to be placed in areas where there is sufficient bone without the need for sinus lifts or extensive bone regeneration. With strategic implantology, I would only need to make two visits to Colombia. Although the cost of this implantology is a little higher than that of conventional implantology, it is totally worth it due to the benefits in time and immediate results.For both techniques, I was told that the prostheses can be made of different materials: acrylic, metal-porcelain or zirconium. These materials vary in price and durability. Within 48 hours, I had surgery to remove the fixed prosthesis I had and place 10 strategic implants. I then had a temporary acrylic prosthesis placed over the implants. This prosthesis will be replaced in six months with a permanent one made of zirconium. The speed of the procedure and the immediate results exceeded my expectations.Accompaniment and ProfessionalismThe treatment was a complete success.
