Dr. Calderón evaluated my mother's situation and explained the available options in detail. We decided to choose an acrylic overdenture supported by 2 implants in the lower jaw, which was the area where my mother had the most problems.Implant PlacementThe first phase of the treatment consisted of placing 2 dental implants in the lower jaw. This procedure was performed at the same clinic under local anesthesia, and it was quick and uncomplicated. After placement, she was given a recovery period of approximately 4 months to allow the implants to fuse with the bone through osseointegration.Prosthesis AdaptationOnce the implants had integrated with the bone, the overdenture was placed. The prosthesis was carefully designed to fit perfectly and was attached to the implants using a Locator system. This allows my mother to remove the prosthesis for cleaning, while still ensuring that it remains firmly in place when in use.Benefits of an Implant-Supported OverdentureThe result was wonderful.
